So why is it that three year olds are SO obsessed with bodily functions!?!
In the past week, Alissa has learned the art of burping in your ear, when pretending to tell you a secret and singing "Old MacDonald had a poopy. EIEIO. And on his farm, all the animals poopied. EIEIO. With a fart fart here and a poop poop there...."
You laugh...but how embarrassing is it when you three year old is belting it out in a public place. At first, it was funny, now it's just routine. We'll tell her it's not polite, etc... but she doesn't seem to care.
We broke going "panty-less" when we told her no one wants to see her butt. And I'll never forget the first time we used it was when we were having pizza delivered. We told her the pizza-man didn't want to see her butt...so she put on pants. Shortly after, she said the pizza-man's gone now and off came the pants. We routinely made it a habit to tell her "so and so" doesn't want to see your bottom. Then, one day, we told her to put pants on and she said "YEAH! We're having pizza for dinner." I guess it didn't sink in as much as we'd hoped.
So...you can see our dilemma. So when you're finished laughing...remember that one day you, too, will have to experience the bodily function obsession (if you haven't already).
