Nickolas' surgery went well. It took about 2 hours and they suctioned a bunch of gunk out of his lungs and said the malacia is showing a slight improvement, but nothing huge.
They were able to open up and add additional passage ways to his sinuses so they'll be draining over the next few weeks.
Instead of patching his ear drum, she trimmed some rim off of it and it should allow a more natural close. They cleaned up his right ear tube and made sure it looks ok.
They took the biopsies they needed to run immune disease tests.He's in a lot of pain right now and will be for about a week or two. He'll have a lot of nasty drainage.
As for his breathing, it's sounding pretty rough right now. If we can keep it under control, we'll definitely be on the upside of things. If he does have trouble, though, we'll follow up with our Ped so we'd be closer to home.
